Professional Drivers Wanted

Did you know that truckers drive 90% of America’s freight? That’s why our drivers are paramount to TransWood’s success. At TransWood, we’re not just seeking drivers. We’re seeking professional drivers.

Professional drivers know that their career is more than just driving a truck. They are the ones that are ready for anything that lies ahead, and they keep on trucking. Professional drivers don’t just look out for themselves; they make sure that their driving behaviors ensure the safety of everyone that shares the road. They’re dedication and professionalism makes a tremendous impact on making sure America runs smoothly.

Being a professional driver in today’s world takes attention, patience and a commitment to being safe on the road. These are the characteristics that TransWood seeks out in all our drivers because we want our drivers to embody TransWood’s safety culture. When we all keep our eye on safety, then we can all make it home exactly the same way we left.

If you are a professional driver seeking to make an impact, and collect a nice paycheck in the process, then TransWood is the place for you. We’ve got the miles, if you’re ready to drive, and we welcome those passionate, professional drivers that seek independence, a top-notch safety culture, and most importantly, recognition that they are among trucking elites for the last 90 years! Choose TransWood and make your impact.

Top Notch Safety Culture and Programs

We know that trucking isn’t easy, and it’s getting increasingly harder to be attentive and alert while working with the amount of distractions we have in a day. But in trucking, safety is the most important part of our jobs. It has to be when you are dealing with 80,000 pounds of steel driving down the road.

TransWood values those drivers and mechanics that keep safety at the forefront of their daily activities. Furthermore, we want to recognize and award those folks that help maintain our safety culture. It’s our employees that drive our safety culture and programs to be the best in the business.

Our Safe Driver and Mechanic awards go out to those employees that maintain safe behaviors 365 days per year. These folks have zero injuries or incidents during the whole year. The Top Tier Mechanic is awarded to mechanics that maintain their safe streak for 10 years! The Million Mile award is awarded to those drivers who have complete 1,000,000 safely driven miles without any preventable accidents or injuries. That’s literally 40 times around the world, so we make sure everyone knows about it when someone hits this milestone! Now we know local drivers may not have the opportunity to earn as many miles as regional or OTR drivers, so they also receive this award after 10 years of safe driving.

TransWood wants all of our drivers and mechanics to focus on safety, but our safety awards are not just geared toward those folks. We need all of our employees to be thinking about safety and that’s why we created the Eye on Safety program.

The Eye on Safety program is pretty simple. We want everyone to keep a look out for things that may affect our safety culture in a negative way. It boils down to, “If you see something, then say something.” We want to encourage folks to bring forward any safety concerns they may have so that we can address the issue before it becomes a problem. Together we can make TransWood a safer place every day. Together we can ensure that all of us return home in the same condition that we left our homes.

We appreciate our safety-minded employees, but some of them go well beyond their assigned duties to ensure that TransWood is always portrayed as going the extra mile. We do tout that we exceed our customer’s expectations, so for those employees that embody this notion, we want to ensure that they know that we recognize and appreciate them. TransWood employees that go above and beyond their duties often receive our Above & Beyond award and are featured on our social media sites as well as our quarterly magazine, TransWood Moving Forward.

TransWood’s Safety Team oversees the many safety programs that we have in place at the individual level, but we also have a safety award at the terminal level. The President’s Safety Award is a yearly award awarded to terminals that have…get requirements from Roger. These awards are TransWood’s way of letting our folks know that we recognize their hard work, we value their commitment to safety and we encourage them to continue down their safety-minded lifestyle.

These safety minded folks, in addition to the many other support personnel at TransWood contribute to our safety culture. And it’s a pretty great culture that we have here because we continuously work to make improvements in our operations. Our commitment to safety has earned us the Safe Fleet Award from the Safety Management Council of the American Trucking Society from 2014-2016, and we’re shooting to make that cut for 2017. In addition to our company-wide awards, we have received several divisional awards from some of our top 10 customers. We’ve received the Carrier of the Year from two top-10 customers since 2015. Additionally, we received the Gold Safety Excellence award since 2015 from a top 10 customer in our chemical division. Last, but not least, one of our terminal manager’s just recently received the Lytx drive cam Coach of the Year award for 2017. We’ve provided a video of our Coach of the Year below. Make sure to check it out because it illustrates our staffs’ dedication to safety. What does safety mean to you?

“I like that the equipment is kept up and taken care of. I like the open communication with dispatch and that they handle any issue I bring to them in a timely manner.”

David Moneta

“The location is convenient to my house but that’s not the only reason I’m here. I’m home every night, which is very important to me. I really like the terminal management here because they are easy to work with. They seem to be looking out for their drivers so I know it’s a good place to be.”
