In the United States, 50 percent of truck drivers are obese. It’s no wonder why this happens, the lifestyle of a trucker is hard and lonely. It can be extremely difficult to address a daily routine that includes working out or eating healthy.

It’s important to be realistic when you start exercising, start small. If you over do it, you may not stick with your plan.

Remember, being sore is good, most of the time! When you begin to feel soreness, this means that your muscles are trying to recover from a strenuous workout. However, be sure that it’s just muscle soreness and not an injury. An injury in the beginning of a lifestyle change can halt your results. So, workout wisely.

For beginners, you might want to consult a physical trainer for the first week or two, just to get comfortable. Once you feel comfortable with the machines and exercises you should be ready to broaden your horizons. You might even want try some new workouts that are more difficult and work different aspects of your body.

Another way to become a healthier trucker is by eating healthy food. Although, most nearby gas stations don’t a lot of healthy options you can still find a healthy snack on the road. Whether, you meal plan or find healthy places to stop on the way, eating healthy is doable. All you have to do is a little research.
